FollowThru Privacy Policy
FollowThru is a daily accountability app for people building something of their own, with Momo the sloth as your coach. Short version: your data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, Momo's AI is never trained on it, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
Your account
When you first open FollowThru, it creates a private account for you with no name or email, so your project is saved from the start. You can then save it with an email address (we email you a 6-digit code; there's no password), Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. Saving it lets you sign back in on a new phone. With Apple or Google we receive your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead) and, if you allow it, your name. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
What FollowThru keeps
- About you: the first name you give, your situation (for example a side project next to a job), your time zone, your check-in times and your app settings.
- Your projects: each project's name, who it's for, its type and stage, your goal number and its history, and your weekly plan.
- Your days: each day's Move and its size, steps under it, your check-in answers, what got in the way, notes, links and proof photos you add, milestones in your Ship Log, and weekly recaps.
- Chats with Momo: your messages and his replies, and pictures you send in the chat. Pictures are deleted after 30 days.
- Momo's memory: short notes Momo learns from your chats and check-ins (for example "works on it after 9pm") so he doesn't ask twice, plus searchable snippets of past Moves and notes. You can see and delete every note in Settings → What Momo knows.
- Usage counts: how many chats and other Momo features you've used each week, to apply fair-use limits.
- Feedback: if you send feedback, your message, an optional screenshot, the screen you were on, the app version and your phone type.
Where it lives
In a database run by Supabase, hosted in the United States (AWS, N. Virginia). Every row is locked so only you can read or change it. Searching Momo's memory happens inside that same service; no other company sees it. A copy of your recent data is also kept on your phone so the app works offline.
Momo's AI (Claude by Anthropic)
Momo's replies are written by Claude, an AI system made by Anthropic. To write a reply, FollowThru sends Anthropic what Momo needs for that moment: your message and recent messages in that chat, your project details and goal, your recent Moves and check-ins, Momo's notes about you, related past notes, and any picture you attached. Anthropic processes this to produce the reply under its own terms and privacy policy (anthropic.com/legal/privacy). Your data is not used to train AI models.
Under some replies Momo offers buttons (for example "Start 10-min focus" or "Add to this week"). Nothing changes until you tap one.
If something you write suggests you may be in crisis, it is not sent to the AI. The app shows the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline instead.
Sign-in codes are sent by our email delivery provider (Resend) on our behalf. We only email you codes you ask for and replies if you write to us.
Subscriptions
FollowThru is free during the beta. When FollowThru Pro launches, payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details. A service called RevenueCat tells the app whether your account has Pro, using your account's random id.
Usage statistics
To learn which features help, FollowThru sends usage events to PostHog, such as "checked in on a Move" or "started a focus timer", with your account's random id, the app version and your phone type. They never include what you write: no Moves, notes, chats or names. Turn this off any time in Settings → Share usage stats.
Notifications
Check-ins and the focus timer's "time's up" are scheduled on your phone itself. They only appear if you allow notifications; turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no selling, renting or sharing your data for advertising.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites.
- No crash-reporting tools at this time. If we add any, this page changes first.
- No medical, diagnostic or mental-health service. FollowThru is a productivity coach, not a replacement for professional care.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists, except chat pictures (30 days). When you delete your account, everything in it is erased.
Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → Delete account. This erases your account and every project, Move, photo, chat and memory note in it, and it can't be undone.
- Can't open the app? Email helpme.trielephant@gmail.com and we'll delete it within 30 days. See Delete your data.
Security and delivery logs kept by our service providers may persist briefly under their own retention rules.
Your rights
You can see most of your data in the app, correct it there, and delete it at any time. For a copy of your data or any other request, email us and we'll answer within 30 days.
Age
FollowThru is for adults, 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you believe a minor has an account, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes and contact
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app. Questions or requests: helpme.trielephant@gmail.com.
